House Cleaning Prices

The Mechanics of House Cleaning Prices.

prices of blackberry phones

House cleaning services aren't as expensive as you might think, and are not restricted only to the rich. With the proliferation of house cleaning services around, prices have gotten cheaper.

PRICES

Prices can be charged based on the number of rooms available, the square footage, or the time taken to clean. In addition, most house cleaning services will give you a discount if you are their regular customer.

What does house cleaning consist of? A typical house cleaning service will do the following:

Vacuuming of the floors Dusting of furniture, shelves, and any other flat surface on which you might keep things Scrubbing the sink, and floors

Various services will offer different things. Some will clean the dishes, and some will do up your bed. You must find out from each service for the specific things that they will do. The cleaning service brings everything that is necessary for the house cleaning including the Vacuum cleaner, the cleaning solution, and the necessary brushes.

In addition, there are some heavy tasks that will not be included in the regular house cleaning, but will be available for a price. These will include deep cleaning of the kitchen, as well as defrosting the refrigerator, cleaning the baseboards, and cleaning out the oven.

Typical Prices.

Your typical house with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom should have a cleaning price tag of between -0, depending on the service, and what they offer. The price scales up more or less proportionately with the size of the house.

This comes to around .08 - .22 per sq. foot of house cleaning. The price can change depending on the actual condition of your house. The price will increase if you have pets as well. For specific cleaning tasks like cleaning out the refrigerator, the prices should be around .

Regular cleaning means that the prices charged can drop by as much as 30%. This is so, not only because it means regular business, but also because the house is easier to clean if it has been cleaned recently. In addition, the cleaning staff will be familiar with your home.

Benefits of House cleaning.

The average person isn't aware of the proper ways in which to clean certain areas like the bathroom, or hardwood floors. If you try and clean your tiles intuitively using Vinegar for example, you risk loosening the grout between your tiles.

When you hire a professional service to clean your home, you ensure that you're home is getting the care that it deserves. A properly maintained home's value on the market increases as well, though the increased hygiene, and aesthetic value might be enough persuasion for you to engage a professional.

Burns From Hot Water

Every year, there are roughly 3,800 injuries and 34 deaths that are a result of scalding from excessively hot tap water. The vast majority of these accidents involve the elderly and children who are under the age of five. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) encourages and urges all hot water users to lower their water heaters to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Doing this will prevent accidents, conserve energy, and save money.

If exposed to 150 degree water for two seconds, most adults will suffer third-degree burns. Burns can also occur with six second exposure to 140 degree water or thirty second exposure to 130 degree water. Even if the temperature of the water coming out of the tap is 120 degrees, an adult exposed to this for five minutes or more could experience third degree burns.

THER MOS PA

There have been various procedures for lowering water temperature suggested. To lower the temperature of water in the home depends on the method of heating the water in the first place. There is not a one size fits all method of lowering water temperature.

People with electric water heaters should contact the local electric company and request that their thermostat be adjusted. Some companies offer this service at no extra charge. Prior to adjusting the temperature or thermostat, hot water should not be used in the house at all for two hours. Adventurous individuals may wish to make the adjustment to the water heater themselves. To do this, start by shutting off the electrical current to the water heater. Next, turn off the circuit breaker to the heater or remove the fuse that serves the heater. The majority of electric water heaters have two thermostats. These thermostats must be set to the same temperature for proper operation to occur. To get to the thermostats, the upper and lower access panels must be removed. Adjust the thermostat following the instructions provided on the appliance. Once this is done, a candy or meat thermometer can be held under a faucet to check the temperature.

Gas water heaters have different thermostats based on the manufacturer. For complete instructions, it is a good idea to contact the local gas company. If the heater does not give precise temperatures, a candy or meat thermometer held under a faucet will do the trick. For the most accurate reading, try this first thing in the morning or at least 2 hours after the water has been used. If the reading on the thermometer comes back too high, adjust the thermostat on the heater according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once this is done, check the temperature of the water again.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has determined that a thermostat setting of 120 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary for residential water heaters to reduce or eliminate the risk of the majority of tap water scald injuries. Consumers should lower their thermostats to the lowest setting that will satisfy the hot water needs for all clothing and dish washing machines.

Always hand test water before using it, particularly when bathing children and infants. It is important never to take hot water temperatures for granted. Leaving a child alone in a bathroom for even a second could result in serious injuries.

Baseboard Radiator Heat

So what makes baseboard radiator heat a good option to pursue? The baseboards of your home are a great place to install a heating system because of the principle that heat rises. Through the use of a baseboard radiator heat system your whole home will be able to be heated, from the floor on up. Baseboard hot water heating systems work well because the "radiators" that bring warmth into the room are installed low to the floor, typically along the baseboard; water is heated in a boiler tank in the utility room just like the water used for the hot water plumbing in your house. This water is heated, either by gas, oil or electricity in a system that is similar to, but separate from the water heater that supplies your plumbing system. These systems are clean because they are totally enclosed, so you do not have to worry about dusty air being blown through vents all over your house, and they are extremely quiet because of the way they work.

Let's take a quick look at how a baseboard radiator heat system works, and why it may be a good option for your home. We have already established that water is heated, and this is what provides the heat to your home; but once the water is heated what happens? Well in general this is how it works.most baseboard radiator heat systems have an electric motor that pumps the water through the house through a series of pipe systems. When you install your system you want to make sure that the first radiator of the house is installed in the main room, or the room you would want heated the best because hot water enters the first radiator first, so that radiator is normally the hottest of any. The heat flows from the surface of that radiator, and some of that heat is transferred, and heats the room. Thus you get a nice toasty room, but the water that comes out of the exit end of that radiator is cooled somewhat.

THER MOS PA

The water follows the series of pipes, flowing to the next radiator in the system where more heat is extracted from the water and released into the room. By nature of the system, the last room in the system receives the coolest water. Once it has run its course, the water goes back to the boiler where it is heated and re-circulated again. This is a closed system. All the water in the system remains in the system. The main water supply from the house is fed into the circulation system through a pressure regulator so that any lost water is replaced instantly.

This is a great system for families like mine where not everyone likes the same temperature. It is almost like having a different thermostat for each room of the house, but significantly less expensive. However, not all baseboard radiator heat systems have the problem of the water cooling significantly from the first radiator to the last. You can buy a system that has a flow control valve on each of the radiators which is adjusted so that a smaller amount of water flows through the first radiator, and so that the excess flow is diverted around and on to the next radiator in the system.

So, the big question that comes to mind is, if the room is heated through water, how can you control the heat that you want? Wouldn't that mean you are at the mercy of how hot the water is? Normally the boiler temperature is controlled internally so that heat is available instantly when it is called for by the room thermostat. Basically, when you flip on your thermostat, a signal is sent to the circulation pump which turns on and begins circulating hot water through the house. Like a traditional heater, you determine when and how much heat you want, and hopefully the room you are in isn't too far down the line and you can get it.

Diabetes Mellitus: Tips to Help You Control Your Blood Sugar

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a condition in which the body cannot properly use sugar as energy. When we eat carbohydrates, they are broken down in the small intestine to simple sugars, one of which is glucose. People without diabetes automatically maintain normal levels of blood glucose, because the pancreas secretes insulin into the blood stream when blood glucose levels rise. The insulin allows the glucose to move from the bloodstream, where it cannot be used, into the body's cells, where it may be used as energy. People with diabetes do not have enough insulin to do the job of moving the glucose from the blood stream into the cells of the body. As a result, they have too much glucose in their blood. This high level of blood sugar can be measured, and this is one way that physicians can diagnose diabetes.

THER MOS PA

How does the body maintain normal glucose levels?

When glucose levels rise, the pancreas automatically secretes more insulin to move the excess glucose into cells. When the glucose levels fall, the pancreas decreases its output of insulin levels. This is similar to the thermostat in your house. First, you set the thermostat to the goal temperature you would like to achieve. If the temperature in the room is lower than you set it, the heater will turn itself on and produce more heat. When the temperature rises above the goal level, the heater will turn itself off, allowing the temperature to fall back to the goal level. The thermostat turns the heater off and on to maintain a desired temperature. In this analogy, the blood glucose level is the thermostat, and the insulin-producing pancreas is the heater. For people with diabetes, it is as if their "heater" is broken. No matter how high the blood glucose level gets, the pancreas is unable to secrete enough insulin to bring it down to normal. Consequently, the blood glucose level continues to rise, but most of that glucose can not be used as energy.

Why are good sugar levels important?

High blood glucose levels may cause symptoms such increased thirst, excessive urination, fatigue, weight loss, and blurry vision. In the long run, the high sugars may increase the risk of heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, permanent visual impairment or blindness, and problems with feet that may lead to amputation. The risk of these complications may be decreased with good sugar control.

How can I find out what level is appropriate?

You should work with your health care provider to determine the levels that are appropriate for you, and set those levels as your goal. Your health care provider may advise you to test your sugars to see if you are at your goal. If you are not at goal, your health care provider may recommend some changes in medication and/or lifestyle to reduce the risk of the long-term complications described above.

There are two ways to measure your blood glucose level. First, you may get a machine and monitor your own sugar at different times of the day. The second way of measuring your blood glucose level is a test called a hemoglobin A1C, which can be thought of as a three-month average of your blood sugars. Ask your health care provider if you have had one of these tests, find out your number, and see if your have reached the target goal. If not, discuss with your health care provider changes that will help you reach your goals.

Are there any general tips to help me reach my goals?

The tips below are to provide general information and are not to be used to treat individual patients. Please consult with your health care provider before implementing any of them. Feel free to show him or her this article as well as the website (listed below).

1) Work with your health care provider and make sure you understand all the instructions given and feel able to implement them when you get home. If you do not feel comfortable with any of the instructions, inform him/her at the time of your office visit.

2) Know your sugars and keep them charted. It is impossible to control numbers if you do not know what they are. If you are not checking your blood sugars now, ask your health care provider if "home glucose monitoring" is appropriate for you. If your sugars are at goal sometimes and not at others, try to figure out why and what changes can be made. Bring a copy of your log to your health care provider. He/She will be in a better position to help if you provide this data.

3) The hemoglobin A1C is a 3-month average sugar measurement. If the sugars are consistently at good levels, your health care provider will probably be very satisfied. If a good average is achieved with many high and low sugars, he will probably want to make changes to lower the variation in your sugar level.

4) If the sugar is not at the established goal, the first place you should look is diet. If you are gaining weight inappropriately, you may need to make adjustments. If the sugar is too high after meals, you may be consuming too many carbohydrates. Keep a log of your diet as well as the sugars and bring this into your health care provider. Many people improve their control by changing their diet. In addition to discussing this with your health care provider or a nutritionist, realize that your diet is your responsibility. You will need sufficient cooking skills, knowledge about food labels, and the desire to implement this knowledge consistently. I have found many people with diabetes are unable to implement their knowledge because they lack the desire or ability to cook. Please consult our website (listed below) as well as other sources to learn basic cooking skills as well as how to read food labels.

5) Find out your appropriate weight and set that as an important target. A proper diet involves proper portion sizes as well as proper foods. Watch your weight, and if it increases, review your diet with your health care provider. If he or she feels the foods are all appropriate, you may want to consider decreasing your portion size. You may need a scale to learn the appropriate portion sizes for you.

6) Ignore marketing hype and look at the nutrition labels on all foods. Even if a food is marked "appropriate for diabetes" or "no sugar added," you must still pay attention to portion size!

7) Try to be consistent with your diet. If you only follow a diet 5 days a week, you will have a very difficult time losing or maintaining your weight at normal levels as well as controlling your sugar.

8) If your health care provider directs you to restrict sodium (Na), green leafy vegetables, or other elements, you will have to follow this advice in addition to limiting carbohydrates.

9) Exercise is extremely important. Ask your health care provider what is appropriate for you, and schedule it as part of your daily routine.

10) Consider having a family member or friend understand your target goals for weight and blood sugar and hold you accountable for your lifestyle. Usually, a spouse or significant other is not an appropriate choice to fill this role. Perhaps you have a friend with diabetes, and you can hold each other accountable for implementing the recommendations of your health care providers.

How to Save Money on Your Winter Heating Bill

It is a no-brainer that of all seasons, winter is the most unfriendly on electrical bills. From day to night most homes turn on their heating devices for comfort, which reflects a tremendous amount, or at least an additional 3% on your billing statement. This increase on winter heating bills is quite normal, but it doesn't hurt too if we hope for the best roll back on our billing statements.

Primarily, conservation and increased efficiency are popular methods to save up. There are numerous ways on how to slash your electric bill for the season, here are some tips on how to save money on your winter heating bill graciously provided by an Ohio-based HVAC company.

THER MOS PA

Properly Set Your Thermostat.

Setting your thermostat at the lowest -- but still comfortable -- winter setting can help lower your electric meter bill. The typical setting for your thermostat should be, at least, set at 68 degrees. Remember that when your heating device is on, your operating costs increase between 3% to 8% for every degree your thermostat is raised. Some home owners schedule their thermostat for a specific time depending on their need.

Tune Your Heating System Every Year.

Studies show that having an annual service done (to check up) on your heating system is one way to minimize your winter heating bill. In doing so, you can spend an average of 30% less each month on your billing statements because of its increased efficiency. Another reason why you should also have your heating system checked and maintained is to avoid heating system breakdowns and repairs, which, if neglected, will result to more costs in your budget.

Keep Your Air Filter Clean.

Aside from annual checks on your heating system, you must also frequently look out on your furnace's air filter. Filters trap dirt, which causes allergies. There are various types of air filters available for your heating system from hypo-allergenic filters to hybrid filters.

Close Your Doors and Windows.

The main point why you have a heating system at home is to comfort you in the cold; so why freely open your windows, doors -- or even garage doors? Closed windows and doors traps the heat emitted by your furnace giving you warmth for the cold days.

Furnace's Vents And Grilles Should Be Unobstructed.

Arranging your furniture and drapings can reduce heating load on your furnace, and make sure that there are no obstruction at all output vents and intake grilles of your heating system specially textiles or fabrics that can easily be ignited by too much heat.

Avoid excessive usage of exhaust fans.

Kitchen or bathroom exhaust fans are used for limited reasons and limited time, but not to exhaust the heat emitted by your furnace. Leaving exhaust fans turned on not only consumes your electrical load but it makes the furnace's heat doesn't do its job.

Controlling sunlight inside your home.

The sun's rays provide natural heat, so on daytime, let the sunshine inside your home. Open window shades (curtains) or remove awnings. After doing so, you can adjust the thermostat setting to compliment the natural heat of the sun reflected inside your home.

Keep heat-generating appliance away from the furnace.

Lamps, televisions, stereos, and other equipment that generates heat should be as far as possible to your furnace. These appliances can affect the setting of your thermostat and can create heat overload, which may trigger your smoke detecting device.

Have a secured, airtight house.

To fully experience the heat from your system, you can: add insulation to your walls or at the attic; seal cracks from walls, doors or ceilings; use storm doors and windows; or use insulated doors and windows.

Be informed with energy regulations at your state.

For your information: Washington D.C. has announced a new tax savings for home owners by upgrading your furnace, heat pump or water heater and you could receive a tax incentive of up to 0. Nothing beats a well-informed citizen. You may visit your state's website, or call someone about existing or new regulations on efficient energy solutions for homes.

Prepare for the weather.

Knowing what to expect in the winter season is significant. Just before winter hits: prepare! Invest in proper insulation and "weatherization" products. Caulk or seal all seams, cracks or openings you see in your house. You can increase the comfort in your home without shedding too much on your budget.

Fireplaces.

Traditional, open chimneys allow cold airs to come inside your house. You can add a feature on your fireplace by replacing a closing mechanism which you can operate when the fire is burned out. But do remember that fireplaces can help you warm down momentarily as compared to a heating system built and centralized in your home.

No matter what kind of heating brand you have, you can save money on your winter heating bill and increase your comfort from the cold by properly maintaining and upgrading your equipment, installing insulation or air sealing around your house, proper thermostat settings and following the tips mentioned above.

Profit From Rising Commodity Prices

Now is the right time to profit from the rise in commodity prices.

It is hard to ignore the fact that oil prices are rising. In fact back in 1990 the cost of a barrel of crude oil was only . Just as recently as last month this went up to just over 2 per barrel. Of course one of the main results of these increases has been the increased cost of gasoline and food.

PRICES

Another impact that rising commodity prices have had are the increased costs of food. Increased oil prices have increased transportation costs of foo, pushing up prices. In addition the commitment that many governments have made to using bio fuels has increased demand for agricultural produce.

Rather than just moaning about the above effects of oil prices, why not try to profit from this booming commodity sector? Over the last few years this has been relatively easy to do. If 5 years ago you had invest in a selection of commodity related stocks and funds there is a very good chance you would have made some good profits.

With traditional equity markets suffering and commodity prices looking set to rise further the time has never been better to start learning to invest in commodities. The US now looks certain to enter recession (if it has not already started) which would undoubtedly cause equity stocks to fall even lower, for a sustained period of time. The key thing to know is that there is very little correlation between equity and commodity markets. To the investor this means that if one falls (equity), the other (commodities) does not necessarily have to fall to.

Cheap Internet Prices

Cheapest ISP Providers

prices

Finding cheap Internet prices for online computer service is getting easier all the time, as companies which have been in the business for 10 to 15 years continue to increase their infrastructure all the time. With established telecommunications systems throughout all non-rural parts of the country, and new techniques and technologies for Internet information transfers, you can find Internet service providers willing to sell you service for as little as a month.

PRICES

NetScape and NetZero

For instance, two competitors among the nationwide cheap Internet service providers are Net Zero and NetScape. Both have coverage throughout most of the country, and both cater to people who want cheap ISPs, often those who are just out of school. Using a process of file compacting, even cheap high speed Internet service only costs about to per month through these companies, on average.

Finding online high speed connections for such inexpensive terms might sound fishy or fantastical, but if you don't play a lot of online games or do a lot of photo sharing on the computer, you're probably going to be happy with the service. Compacting information files hurts the graphical quality of the files being transferred, but you won't notice a difference, if what you do is email, blog, post on message boards, or browse the Internet.

Price Saving Measure

Another way to save money on your Web bill is to eliminate inefficient uses of your telecoms. For instance, if you use your cellphone 98% of the time anyway, get rid of your home phone and use your cell phone exclusively. This doesn't necessarily save you money on your online bill, but it does give you more money to spend on your ISP. You can also go in the other direction, finding a telecommunications providers which bundles your tv, phone, and Net bills into one payment. Like any package deal, these usually come at a discount over three separate bills.

Avoid Forced Air Heater Repair with Regular Maintenance

Central forced air heater repair can be expensive, so the best plan of action is to prevent the repair in the first place if at all possible. Of course, no matter how careful you are to adhere to a regular maintenance plan, at some point you'll need to either get your system repaired or learn to do the basic repairs yourself.

A forced air heater uses ductwork to carry heated air throughout the house. There's a blower to keep the air moving to all corners of the house. Central forced air heaters are popular, because the blowers distribute the air efficiently creating few, if any, cold spots.

THER MOS PA

Older units didn't have blowers which meant the hot air rose throughout the house unevenly. But anytime you add features to a unit as sophisticated as central heat, you're bound to have a forced air heater repair at some point. The more technology involved, the more expensive the repair can be.

Forced air heaters are either gas or electric. Gas is the furnace of choice if the fuel is available in the area because it burns clean and often less expensive than electricity. But when you need a forced air heater repair on a gas unit you have to be extremely careful you don't try to repair a gas leak on your own.

Some repairs to furnaces require professional service by a certified and licensed technician. But even so, there are many maintenance steps you can take to reduce the probability of needing a forced air heater repair. A well- maintained furnace can provide years of repair-free service.

Problems that can require a forced air heater repair include the following:

o Pilot light goes out or won't stay lit

o Blower doesn't blow air through ductwork

o Furnace won't start

o Blower won't shut off

o House never reaches temperature set on thermostat

A forced air heater repair usually requires a licensed electrician in order to ensure the unit operates safely. A gas leak repair should never be attempted by a homeowner. In fact, if you smell gas you should leave all the windows open, leave the house and then call for an emergency repair.

Regular furnace maintenance includes replacing filters, keeping properly working thermostats, keeping vent openings clean, making sure ductwork doesn't leak and keeping blower blades clean. Of course, no matter how careful you are about adhering to a regular maintenance schedule, anything mechanical can break.

Some of the simple repairs can safely be done by the homeowner. For example, you can replace the thermostat and replace fuses. You can also repair ductwork and even replace blower blades. But most repairs need to be done by an authorized technician or a licensed professional for the safety of you and your family.

There's a lot to be said for having peace of mind.

How Are Stock Prices Determined?

Stock prices are not determined according to a single strategy, and it is very difficult to predict them. Some economists say that they depend on the long term earnings of the company. Investors usually buy the stocks which they think will make profits in the future. This, in turn, causes the price of that particular stock to increase. Again, it is the demand that actually is causing the rise. However, the opposite happens when a company is not expected to make profit. Here the demand is low for that particular stock, and therefore, it causes the price to fall.

prices for inground pools

An investor buys or sells stocks depending on the business the company is doing, the financial prospects of the company and the history of the stock prices of the company they want to invest in. The interest rates also show an effect on the stock prices. If the interest rate increases, it will always decrease the stock prices as they tend to indicate that there will be a downtrend in the economy and some of the investors can shift to the investments with the interest.

PRICES

There are many other things which determine the price of a stock. Every investor has a different strategy to buy and sell stocks and they take many factors into consideration. These factors may or may not be correct.

As the market shows a huge uptrend, many investors will get into the market which increases the demand and the price. Speculators also buy the shares in order to sell them at higher rates in the future. When the prices show a continuous uptrend, then it is called a bull market. The speculators start selling the shares and the prices fall. Seeing this, the investors also sell out the shares which leads to a bear market.

Manufacturers of bath products in North America are very aware of consumers' desire to relax, renew and rejuvenate, and the latest offerings will do just that. From ultra-modern to Victorian era designs, there is something for everyone, and every budget.

While the majority of bathtubs today are made with fiberglass, one company takes a different, natural path with its limestone blend base. This eco-friendly, sustainable bath solution combines innovation with design in roll-edge tub. Its volcanic limestone and high-performance resins produces a durable, hard wearing surface that contains special insulating properties to maintain a steady water temperature for a prolonged period. The traditional cast iron tub is not only much heavier, but must first absorb heat before it can contain it.

Chromatherapy lighting has been a popular addition to home spa designs over the past few years. Each of the seven colors of the spectrum brings a sense of composure and equilibrium including: Red - Energizing; Orange - Stimulating; Violet - Enlightening; Yellow - Clarifying; Green - Calming; Purple - Stimulating; and Blue - Detoxifying. LED lighting systems with chromatherapy tubs offer the option of one solid color, or the full spectrum rotating while you enjoy the relaxing comforts of the deep water. Studies have shown that regular exposure, in twenty-minute sessions, has many therapeutic effects on people physically and psychologically.

In additions to settling into a warm bath, North Americans love their massages - so much so that 39 million adults (more than one out of every six) indulge annually, according to the American Massage Therapy Association.

The Ayoura bath offers an exceptional hydro-thermo massage and access to a traditional hands-on massage. To create the perfect full-body hydro-thermo massage, this luxury tub includes three distinct levels of air jets that create consistent pressure.

The bath - which is available in drop-in and freestanding versions - also features an inverted V backrest and integrated headrest to ensure a perfect neck and spine massage. It's oval shape provides ample space for the upper body and shoulders without compromising the comfort of the legs or feet. Its three-level footrest ensures absolute comfort and full-body immersion - no matter the bather's height.

For consumers who want to go the extra mile with a traditional massage, the Ayoura offers an optional professional grade massage table top with the freestanding model.

These are just a few of the choices available for consumers as they create their own private getaway at home.

Help With Buying a Programmable Thermostat

Once you have decided to buy a programmable thermostat for your home the next task you have is to decide which one to buy. There are a large number of  thermostats to choose from and to help you decide which is best for you, I've written the notes below.

The cheapest programmable thermostats cost under and the more expensive ones cost about 0. You might want to buy more than one programmable thermostat to control the temperature in different parts of your house. Normally price is the first consideration when buying a consumer product but should be less so in this instance because programmable thermostats save you money on HVAC bills. In under a year the savings on your bills will cover the cost of the programmable thermostat or thermostats you bought. It is estimated by Energy Star that you can save 0 a year by properly controlling the temperature in your house. It is a waste of money to heat or cool an empty house while you are at work and it is a waste of money to have the heating turned up when you are in bed sleeping.

THER MOS PA

More important is compatibility. Some of the cheaper models can only be installed on single stage systems. The better programmable thermostats can normally be installed on single and multi-stage systems, combined heater and cooler systems, gas pumps, air-conditioner units and electric furnaces. Check carefully about the compatibility of a device before you buy it.

The next vital consideration is ease of use. Is the device easy to program? All good thermostats should let you program in your temperature requirements for every day of the week. And within each day the thermostat should offer you four different periods. Any less does not give you the control you need over your house temperature to properly save energy and money.

Many of the better thermostats also have a vacation mode which allows the HVAC system to just tick over while you are away on holiday. This function protects your house from such things as burst water pipes during the winter.

Another useful function is a filter warning. This tells you when it is time to change the filters. It is a job that it is easy to forget to do. Not regularly changing the filters makes your heating/cooling system inefficient and costs you money.

For some people the issue of how easy it is to program a thermostat is an important factor. All manufacturers claim that their thermostat is easy to program. It is best to take this with a pinch of salt and consult someone at Home Depot and read reviews on line to discover really how easy to program a particular device is.

Another important thing to consider is swing control. Lux Products and Hunter Programmable Thermostats have swing control. Swing control allows you to set a range within which the thermostat operates. So, for example, if you set the swing control to 3 degrees and set the thermostat to 75 degrees then the heating/cooling won't come on until the room temperature drops below 72 degrees or rises beyond 78 degrees. Having the ability to change swing control allows you to protect your HVAC system from continually cycling. It does damage to boilers and other HVAC equipment if the heating/cooling is continually going on and off in response to the smallest fluctuations in temperature.

Finally, another thing to remember is to ask about a warranty when you buy a programmable thermostat. All reputable firms will give at least a year warranty on their products. Along with a warranty you should inquire if there is any customer help line and email address. This is especially useful if you run into problems during installation.

Copper Prices

Many do not realize it, but the price of copper explains a lot about the various forces of the economy. How, you may ask? Read on below to satisfy your basic curiosity.

prices of laptops

The power of copper

PRICES

Copper trades for about 12 cents per ounce. This may not seem like much compared to gold that trades today for about 7 per ounce, but copper is the world's third most widely used metal. It is not an investment metal but a working metal that moves dynamically as the economy changes. And copper prices have all posted double-digit gains in the Commodities Research Bureau index.

Copper traders are becoming wealthier by the minute, as the consumption and production of copper rises. Copper production around the world increased by 20% between 2002 and 2004 alone - that is a remarkable development in a two-year period of time. In fact, copper is largely responsible for the economic success of Chile, the supplier of about 1/3 of the world's copper.

It's therefore no surprise that the price of copper has doubled in the recent years. And this increase is a very accurate indicator of the demand for it. Copper is very stable trade - unlike precious metals such as gold and silver, nobody hoards copper, and yet it is always in demand.

What does this all say about the world economy? It is apparently booming. The progressively rising production and prices of copper indicates that companies all over the world are buying copper to transform into industrial output.

Above ground pools are more affordable than the in ground type. Their prices range from as low as 500 dollars to as high as 700 dollars. The amount actually depends on the size, style and design as well as the materials that are to be used for the pool. How to Troubleshoot Your Air Conditioner

Even though some air conditioner repairs need to be handled by a professional, qualified repairman, there are some simple maintenance repairs air conditioner owners can do themselves after some basic trouble shooting. One of the biggest problems is the air conditioner is not cooling the area. If it runs but does not cool, it most likely needs to be cleaned. Cleaning an air conditioner should be done on a warm day and all power to the unit needs to be shut down via a disconnect panel by the outdoor compressor. All debris and leaves should be removed from the outdoor condenser. Then remove the protective grilles and use a soft-bristled brush to clean out dirt from the fins.

If the air conditioner does not go on automatically when turned on, sometimes it is a question of the thermostat. Make sure it is set at "cool" and the temperature set on the thermostat is below the current ambient temperature. If this is set, check out the main electrical panel as well as any secondary circuit panels. Look for a blown fuse or a tripped breaker. Sometimes the fuse just needs to be replaced or the breaker needs to be reset.

THER MOS PA

Sometimes the temperature may swing or it may drop too low. If the temperature in the room swings more than three degrees Fahrenheit when the air conditioner goes from off to on, it may mean that the air conditioner pump is not cycling often enough. If the temperature in the room drops down further than what the temperature is set on the thermostat, most often it means the thermostat is not properly calibrated. Either that or the thermostat does not get a good sampling of the room air from where it is installed in the room.

A common problem many people face is that a pool of water starts to form around the air conditioner. Air conditioners create a large amount of condensation and it tends to exit via a drain tube. Then, it should enter into a floor drain or get carried away with a condensate pump. However, if water is starting to pool at the base of the air conditioner, most likely it either means that something is blocking the flow of water or the pump is not properly looking. First see if a tube is leaking, if so then it just needs to be replaced. To test the pump, pour water into the pan. If the pump does not start, there are two possibilities - it either it is broken or it is not receiving any power. Sometimes, especially if the air conditioner is running for a long period of time, there can be ice forming that blocks water from getting into the tube. If this is what is happening, first check if the filter is dirty. If the filter is not dirty, it most likely means a low supply of refrigerant. In this scenario, it is best to phone an HVAC professional.

Trane Heat Pump

Trane heat pump is a mechanical device used to cool a place during summer season by extracting the heat out and vice versa. It is the simplest and most economical HVAC system which is both residential and commercial's favorite. However, the unit is easily spoilt if it's not well maintained. Here are some of the common failures and ways to solve the problems.

Thermostat failure

THER MOS PA

This is the most common failure for all types of heat pump. This happens if you frequently set the maximum temperature to heat up your home. If the thermostat fails, the heat pump will not be able to heat up your home to your desired temperature. Thus, you will have to purchase a new thermostat and replace the old one. Be sure to choose the correct type of thermostat and wired it properly during installation.

Not Enough Heat

When the Trane heat pump is not able to provide the desired heat, it is most likely that the environment is warmer than the set temperature. Or if the pump starts to blow out cool air, it is likely that the pump has turned into defrost mode. If this happens, try to check the pump filters and its heating coils. Remember, dirty filters may slow down the heating process.

Freezing

Sometimes, during cooling process, the condenser may freeze up if we frequently set to the minimum temperature. If this happens, immediately turn off the HVAC unit. Then, check the filters to make sure that it is clean and check the air flow unit.

Fluctuation in Temperature

It is possible for the temperature to go too low during cooling and too high during heating process. This is usually due to the calibration of the thermostat. You have to check on your thermostat calibration.

These are some of the common problems that might occur. If you are not able to figure out yourself, try to get a technician to help you out.

Cause And Effect Of the Increase In Gas Prices

The increase in gas prices is a worldwide issue these days. There has been a tremendous increase in demand for energy across the globe due to increase in the industrialization and growth in population. We have limited resource supplies of energy; and demand outstrips supply. One of the most widely-used sources of energy is gas. It is used both for household and commercial purposes. But due to regular increases in gas prices consumers are trying to cut down on its use, or find a better deal.

prices for smirnoff vodka

There are many reasons for the increase in gas prices. We have limited reserves of gas, whereas demand is much higher. The dramatic increase in oil prices is an important factor which leads to the increase in gas prices. Crude oil is one of the sources of gas production and at international level crude oil prices have gone up. Extraction of gas through crude oil is a very complicated and expensive process. So to cover this cost the regulatory bodies need to increase prices. Taxation is another reason for high gas prices. When taxes are added to the actual cost of production this increases the overall cost.

PRICES

Whatever reason it may be they have dramatic effect on the overall economy of the country. It has not only affected commercial usage but household consumers are also affected. To meet the demand of gas, governments all over the world are not only increasing gas prices but are also looking for other alternatives, such as thermal energy, solar energy, etc. Both commercial and household users are facing difficulties.

As gas prices increase, the cost of other goods also increase. This then results in higher spending. In most countries salaries are not increasing in proportion to the increase in inflation. People have less disposable income. So, to make up that unavailable portion of income many people look for it by some illegal way. This results in frustration, high crime rates and so on. For industrial users this results in a higher cost of production, lower profits and higher break-even point.

In order to prevent this rise in prices, governments all over the world need to find alternative sources of energy to fulfill the need or else we will end up with a complete disaster. We need to explore new gas reserves and new sources of gas production. There are many countries like Pakistan, Iran, etc. that are rich in minerals and other natural resources. Through world trade organization and other international bodies we can enhance the co-operation between different nations in order to fulfill each other's needs with the available resources. This will bring together different minds on one platform to reflect and come up with efficient sources for new gas acquisition.

It's high time to think about alternative sources of gas extraction in order to control the increase in gas prices or else we will not be left with many choices.

Cause And Effect Of the Increase In Gas Prices

There are many other sources of energy like solar energy, thermal energy, heat energy and so on. To avoid an increase in gas prices we need to efficiently and effectively utilize them. Super powers need to focus on supplies of gas to meet the demand and reduce the gas prices.

PRICES

Garden Bench Prices

Garden benches can be made of a number of materials ranging from natural to man made materials and so the price too varies on the materials being used. Apart from the materials used, the prices are also dependant on the size, shape, additional features and finish of the garden benches.

prices for smirnoff vodka

Prices are usually high for garden benches that have a lot of handiwork involved. If they are relatively simple pieces, prices are not as high. Simple wood benches are the least expensive benches, however if the quality of wood used, is extremely good then prices may shoot up. If the garden benches are made of materials other than wood like sandstone or concrete, or for that matter wrought-iron then the prices tend to be a little on the higher side.

PRICES

For elaborately carved out concrete, sandstone or marble garden benches, prices are the highest as they involve a lot of manual labor that makes the unique individual pieces. At times, even the simplest of the pieces are extremely expensive as they are made from the choicest materials. In case of aluminium or wrought-iron garden benches, prices are more or less affordable as they are machine-made and do not usually have any unique look individually.

Prices also depend on the shape and size of the benches. If the garden benches are backless, they are less expensive than the ones that have a proper backrest. Usually garden benches are not upholstered but in case they are then they come at an additional price. Prices also rise in case they are accompanied with cushions and other accessories. Prices of garden benches can range from to 0 or even more if you opt for a kingly-style look.

Women New Hair Styles - Tips For Shine Styling

Straight hair will shine more that curly or wavy hair because of light reflection. For maximum shine apply straightening balm before blow drying for super sleek looks. When you are blow drying use a nozzle attachment to direct the airflow down the hair from root to tip. This helps to flatten the cuticle scales and add shine. If you have course or frizzy hair, use a big, round thermo brush that has a metal barrel that heats up during the drying process. This heat is then used to style your hair, just like straighteners would.

There are wide range of creams, serums and sprays available to add instant shine. Gloss is great for this. Smooth or scrunch it into the hair to tame flyaway ends and give a fantastic sheen to your hair. Rejuvenate curls by twisting them around your finger. Rub a small amount of curl definer onto your fingers and mold the curl by winding the hair around your finger. This eliminates frizz, reshapes the curl and adds shine. Always rinse hair your with clean running water to banish shampoo and conditioner from the hair as remaining deposits will make the hair dull.

THERMO SPA

When rinsing use cold water in the final rinse as this will close down the cuticle and encourage shine. Intensive conditioning treatments replace lost moisture and lock it in by adding a fine protective layer around the hair. Feeling in the party mood then wear your hair in relaxed, wavy curls which will be one of this seasons hot new hairstyle looks. You can rag roll or tong your hair, or use large rollers for lovely loose waves to be the belle of the ball.

For a trendy party look which suits styles with short, sharp layers, keep hair smooth and sleek, slicked back behind the ears with some gel, or to show off your layers, wear it more messed up by tousling it with putty.

Product Review - The New Swede-O Thermoskin Heel-Rite For Plantar Fasciitis

The plantar fascia is a band of fibrous tissue that originates on the inner portion of the heel bone and fans out under the arch to the balls of the feet and inserts into the toes. It forms the longitudinal arch of the foot and functions as a shock-absorber when you walk or run. Irritation or inflammation of the plantar fascia occurs primarily at its attachment to the heel bone or calcaneus.

Symptoms of plantar fasciitis usually occur in the morning when the patient gets out of bed. The pain usually subsides after a couple of minutes, but returns with prolonged sitting. This is due to a tightening or contracture of the plantar fascia at rest. When standing the fascia stretches "suddenly" causing pain at the insertion. As the fascia "stretches out", the pain subsides. If untreated, the pain worsens and increases in duration. Plantar fasciitis is further aggravated by poor fitting shoes, barefoot ambulation, and aggressive sports activities.

THERMO SPA

Treatment for plantar fasciitis is usually conservative in nature. Rest, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, padding, alternative shoe gear, arch supports, orthotics, stretching exercises usually improve the condition. Cortisone injections are sometimes necessary to reduce severe pain, and if conservative treatment and time have not improved the condition, surgery is sometimes indicated.

Arch supports and orthotics (custom made arch supports) are a very popular treatment modality among Podiatrists, Chiropractors and Therapists and have proven very successful in controlling abnormal gait, excessive pronation and support of the plantar fascia. In many instances, these devices cannot be worn due to shoegear restrictions. Since most of the damage and irritation of the plantar fascia occurs during the day, with prolonged standing, walking and physical activity, an alternative to orthotics and arch supports was limited. Until Swede-O developed a unique and supportive brace called The Heel-Rite.

The Heel-Rite is a combination ankle brace and arch support. The patented Heel-Rite provides effective daytime treatment for Plantar Fasciitis. The Heel-Rite is comfortable to wear and low profile in design.

The brace contains a support strap that lifts the arch and provide compression to the plantar fascia and stabilization of the longitudinal arch.

Another unique feature of the Heel-Rite is the brace material. Swede-O utilizes a Thermoskin Thermal fabric that has been clinically proven to increase subcutaneous skin temperature 2-3°F for optimal level of heat therapy. Thermoskin's patented Trioxon® lining creates a micro-climate that maintains elevated skin temperature while still allowing the skin to ventilate for long-term user comfort. The spiral structure of the Trioxon lining lifts moisture away from the skin and traps air within the lining to help prevent excessive perspiration.

This combination of ankle and foot stability, heat therapy, and arch support with compression makes this a great alternative to bulky arch supports and orthotic inserts. The Heel-Rite fits into most shoes and is very adjustable, coming in just two sizes. It is universal for left or right ankles.

It is always recommended that you consult with your treating doctor to determine the cause of your orthopedic condition and the appropriate treatment.

Lowest Gas Prices - Why Are Gas Prices in Some Parts of the Country Harder to Deal With Than Others?

In todays' economy, more and more often you are going to find people doing whatever they can to find the lowest gas prices in their area! Depending on where you live, the increasing cost of fuel makes it more difficult to pay those bills.

prices of blackberry phones

Why do I say that?

PRICES

With the cost of gas hovering around the four dollar mark, it only makes sense that if you already live in a part of the country in which modest homes are going for over one million dollars and the average wage is three to four times what it is in other parts of the country, the current gas price is not going to be as bad!!

What I am saying is that demographically speaking, the rising cost of gas can be devastating! I live in central Ohio where there are not that many people making one hundred thousand dollars a year. I am talking about families in which both spouses work full time! There are parts of this country in which a secretary can make over one hundred thousand dollars a year by themselves...and more!

To expand on this, if you live in southern Ohio where there are no jobs, you are spending an arm and a leg in gas getting back and forth to your work place because you have to drive where "there is work"!

I am talking about Ohio because I am familiar with it but...this is what is occurring in "all" states! These are the areas where the rising cost of gas is going to cause crime, bankruptcy, and foreclosures all to increase.

It is within these demographic parts of the country in which help is "really" going to be needed! In time, having the lowest gas prices of around seven dollars a gallon is going to make those other parts of the country feel the pain these other people are already experiencing!

Where Do You Start when Building a Snake Cage?

When I was making my first cage my wife Cheryl came out into the shed and asked me what I was doing. I mumbled or grunted something about "building snake cage" whilst earnestly trying to figure out some small detail or putting in an annoying screw (I'm not sure which), to which she rolled her eyes and ambled back into the house - I believe shaking her head and possibly rolling her eyes.

Anyway, I wanted to make a good cage. I had made one already but it was far too small as I had divided it into two sections by placing a timber divider in the middle. It cut the cage in half and was close enough to the floor to prevent interaction while leaving enough space to slide a heat mat under. It covered about 1/2 to 2/3 of the cage either side of the middle.

THER MOS PA

I decided to do it that way as it cheaper than making two cages and the two children's pythons were still small, having just graduated from the plastic containers. (When I housed them in the plastic containers I used small terracotta plant bases for their hides. I cut a little out of the side of the base for the entrance - this is a good tip for juveniles and young snakes or lizards)

I housed the two juvenile carpet pythons in that cage, one each side, but as they grew I knew I needed to make another cage.

So I did some research and with a bit of help from pet shops and some research on the web I was able to come up with what I thought was a simple snake cage plan.

A snake cage design that:

- was easy to make

- was strong

- looked good

- had appropriate thermal properties

- had easy access

- was lockable

- was easily maintained.

I suppose I should back up a bit and tell you how I made the first snake cage. Having two juvenile snakes about to graduate from their small plastic cages meant I needed accommodation. Initially I thought I had to make two snake cages with two sets of heat mats, thermostats (I know there are alternatives), lighting and twice the amount of materials.

So I decided, after multiple diagrams and fiddling about, to make one cage and divide it in half. I still needed to heat both sides. I placed a divider in the cage. It was close enough to the floor to prevent the snakes going underneath yet high enough to allow the Flexiwatt heat pad to slide underneath.

I also made the divider so that it fitted in the cage exactly but only held in place by screws. These screws could then be removed if I wanted to make the cage larger and build a second cage.

I made a number of mistakes with this cage.

The front was glass but it was fitted and did not slide or move. There were two hinged lids on top, one for each side. As I had no experience, it didn't occur to me that his was a poor design. I soon found that it was. I should have at least made a door at the front, either sliding or drop down. The top door was a good idea, but not on its own.

I chose to make the door on my new cage a single drop down door for a number of reasons.

First and foremost was ease. I didn't have to slide the door and get a reptile from the other end as the snakes don't move out of the cage very quickly. If you have dragons or frisky reptiles it is better to have either a sliding door or two drop downs or, alternatively a combination ie a drop down door at the front with a hinged roof on top. This allows ease of access from above to retrieve the reptiles and also ease of access from the front for cleaning and accessorizing.

Drop down doors are the easiest to make and the most forgiving of mistakes, particularly plexiglass. Drop down glass doors and sliding doors require a little more effort, and time. If you have limited room, a sliding door is much more satisfactory. All my subsequent cages have sliding doors but that is a personal choice.

As I had carpet pythons, I did not need to have a UV light - usually you can use supplements to provide any extra dietary needs with snakes. If I had wanted to put in a UV light for a lizard in the first reptile cage I made, I would have had some difficulty because the hinged roof and fixed front would have made the angle of access when installing a light difficult. I had effectively eliminated half the roof and could not access the back of the cage roof easily. The light fitting should have been installed at the same stage as the half roof - something I neglected to think of at the time.

I also chose to make my own heat mats using Flexwatt. My first commercial mat was far too hot and buckled one of my plastic cages and the timber it was sitting on. I had to throw it out. According to the instructions it was supposed to self regulate and not require a thermostat. It didn't work. So I decided to make my own heat mat and attach it to a thermostat. No problems so far and the results are far better.

To make the mat, I drilled holes in the back of the snake cage and dismantled an old electrical cord. I attached a plug I bought from the hardware and attached it to one end and I soldered the other ends onto the mat. I wanted to use a detachable plug so I could thread the cord through a small hole in the back of the cage. I wanted the hole to be small enough to prevent escape, even by small snakes.

The soldering was a bit difficult as the soldering iron had not been refurbished ( I have since refurbished it and it works perfectly now - you can find out how to refurbish you soldering iron in my book "How to Build Reptile Enclosures".)

I also had to drill a small hole in the back of the cage for the thermostat probe, which sat on top of the heat mat. I stuck the heat mat down with some tape but have since used double sided tape or clear duct tape as holds on better and longer.

You can put the heat mat on the base and then placed thin ply or something similar over the top. I have yet to try this method. I have even seen snake cages where tiles were glued and placed over the heat mat, after applying a layer of glue or similar substance. I now use inexpensive vinyl over the heat mat, as it is easily cleaned, and have newspaper or other substrates on top of that again.

Melamine also makes a good base as it is easily washable. Silicone should be placed around the edges to prevent water damage and leakage into the joins, but there is a trick to making a smooth silicone joint.

Placing the lights in the snake cage is relatively easy. I decided that I would place an in-line switch to each light so I could control them from outside the cage without having to scrounge around finding the cord or a switch on a switch board. I have since automated all of these using timers.

I have quite a good range of tools in my shed but I really didn't need a lot to make the cages. I think for most people, cutting the timber square is one of the biggest issues. There are ways around this so that constructing the cage is relatively easy (you can find these out in the book "How to Build Reptile Enclosures").

I did a lot of looking around at various cages, trying to determine the best material to build them from. I built mine using MDF. I use it for a number of reasons.

- It has good thermal properties

- It's easy to use

- It comes out well painted

- It's easy to sand

- It does not buckle easily

- You can work with relatively thin (1/2") material making it not too heavy

You do need to be a bit careful cutting it and I would advise using a mask. It can be very dusty.

You also need to be a bit careful putting in screws. Put them in too hard and you damage the hole. They will not hold properly.

I would not advise making a snake or other reptile cage from pine or cedar. These materials can be dangerous to reptiles. A few pieces of pine for framing is fine but not the whole cage.

Another good material is plywood. I do not use it mostly because it can be splintery. It does look good however if you finish it with a timber finish a clear coat.

I also painted my cages (spray paint gives a nice finish). I let them dry out for about a week before I put the animals in there. This is to ensure that the paint has time to cure and that the amount of vapor it releases has declined enough to be no threat to the snakes. You can pop your head in the cage after 4 or 5 days and smell the inside of the cage. When the paint smell has almost gone ,the snake or lizard cage is safe to put the animals in.

After painting it's just a matter of adding locks, door holders and accessories like climbing branches, rocks, hides, water bowls, fake rock walls and whatever you fancy.

My children's pythons, blue tongued lizards and bearded dragon now happily live in their respective habitats.

Good Luck.

Dryer Thermostat Operation

There are two types of thermostats used on most Whirlpool, Kenmore, GE, and Maytag electric and gas dryers - Fixed and Adjustable. These two types have three basic applications in a dryer - as operating or cycling thermostats, safety thermostats, and cool-down thermostats.

An operating or cycling (bias) thermostat is used to control the air temperature in the dryer. A single fixed thermostat, several switch-selected fixed thermostats, or an adjustable thermostat may be in control. These thermostats are located in the exhaust airstream of the dryer and have normally closed contracts. The contacts open with temperature rise and control the electrical current to the gas burner or electric-heat-element circuitry. In some applications a second, normally open, contact is used to control timer operation.

THER MOS PA

Safety thermostats are employed to prevent excessive temperatures within the dryer. Dryer safety thermostats, or thermal fuses, are always fixed, or the non-adjustable type. They are located at strategic locations in the burner area, heater element housing, or fan-scroll housing, depending on the design of the dryer model. In most, if not all dryer applications, thermal fuses and safety thermostats have normally closed contacts that open the circuit and prevent electrical current to the heat source in the event that some failure or an abnormal rise in temperature. Some of the earlier dryer safety thermostats used with some manual ignition burners had normally-open contacts that close and energize an unlatching solenoid.

Cool-down thermostats are used to provide motor operation during the cool-down on many Whirlpool and Maytag Dryer designs. These thermostats have normally-open contacts that close during the heat phase of the cycle. At the end of that phase, the timer or relay contacts are opened and the dryer continues to run without heat. When exhaust temperatures drop to approximately 120F, the contacts open to end the cycle.

Troubleshooting Air Conditioning Units

When it comes to air conditioning units, you will find there are two various types. The first one is known as a split system unit and the second type is a self contained unit. Self contained models are the type that is installed in a window or other wall opening and is responsible for transferring hot air to the outside, which is typically through a window. Split system air conditioners are the models that have a condenser coil as well as a compressor outside. There is an evaporator coil that is found inside and when you find you are having trouble with yours, there are similar steps that can be taken to help with troubleshooting.

The first thing you should do is make sure there is power going to the air conditioning units. If you have an AC unit that is wither an in-window style or an interior model, make sure that it's plugged into an outlet that is working. For systems that are a split systems, make sure there is power going to the both of them. Next, you should consider looking at the unit's exterior and look for the container that houses a power switch. Make sure it's on.

THER MOS PA

You should also take a look at the temperature controls and ensure that they are at a temperature that is comfortable for you. If either the air conditioner or the thermostat is off, your unit is not going to kick on. You should reset your thermostat and set it at a higher temperature that is close to the current temperature and slowly work it back down.

Make sure you keep up with the maintenance of your air conditioning units. Ensure that all filters are cleaned out regularly to prevent dust and other build-up. This can damage a unit. For window models, you will find the filter behind the grille and on split systems, the filter s are on the inside.

If you have a window unit, make sure that in the evening hours you switch it to the "fan", and this is especially true if you notice any amount of ice beginning to develop on the unit. You can check behind the unit as well as the grille for formation of ice. You will find the switch on the panel. Take the time to see if the unit is leaking as this can indicate that your unit needs to be repaired. If you look below the unit and notice any stains or other puddles of fluids this can indicate leaking in the unit and anything like that should be repaired.

Make sure that there are no bugs, animals, or other items such as leaves and twigs in your air conditioning unit. Any debris such as this will prevent your AC from working the way it should. Check the condenser as well as the compressor outside. If you do see debris, turn the unit off and remove the debris. Turn the unit back on to see if you notice a difference.

Why Do Share Prices Change?

Stock prices change every day according to the markets activity. Buyers and sellers cause prices to change and therefore share prices change as a consequence of supply and demand. And it's this dance between buyers and sellers, supply and demand that decides how valuable each share is.

pricescan

If more people want to buy a share than sell it, the price goes up. Conversely, if more people want to sell a share than buy it, there's more supply (sellers) than demand (buyers), and the price goes down.

PRICES

Shares represent ownership in a company. So even if you own just one single share of a company, you own a part of it no matter how minute. Therefore, the price of a share indicates what investors feel the company is worth.

Stock prices can stay stable for months or fluctuate wildly which is referred to as volatility. There are hundreds of variables that drive stock prices, but the most important one is earnings. Attributable earnings can be described as the profit of a company after taxes and all other deductions i.e. it's the net profit.

There's often the misconception, especially with beginners, that a share that has risen will always fall, or a share that has fallen will always rise. Vice-versa, there's also the misconception that a share that has risen will always continue to rise. This is not the case though! Stock prices reflect the interest of investors, not the law of gravity!

However, no market operates in a vacuum. In a borderless and interconnected world like the stock market, the slightest rumour or threat of war, rising oil prices or interest rate hikes for instance, can detonate a reaction on world markets which then react speedy and unpredictable.

To make matters worse, markets also react to less alarming news and events like a slip of the tongue. One wrong word said by mistake by an analyst or politician can cause a chain reaction and panic sending the markets into red territory.

But whichever way the wind blows, prices can rise as quickly as they fell especially after someones blunder saying the wrong thing. Once investors come to their senses again the stock markets can even begin to rise the same day again.

We may not be able to predict the forces that causes the markets to swing either up or down, but by analysing and understanding them, we will be better equipped to weather the lows and wait for the tide of fortune to turn.

It can definitely be said though, that it is important to always assess a company on it's fundamentals. In the long term, good, solid and strong companies with good fundamentals usually return to their real value and strength, ironing out speculations based on rumours and innuendos.
