Trane Heat Pump

Trane heat pump is a mechanical device used to cool a place during summer season by extracting the heat out and vice versa. It is the simplest and most economical HVAC system which is both residential and commercial's favorite. However, the unit is easily spoilt if it's not well maintained. Here are some of the common failures and ways to solve the problems.

Thermostat failure

This is the most common failure for all types of heat pump. This happens if you frequently set the maximum temperature to heat up your home. If the thermostat fails, the heat pump will not be able to heat up your home to your desired temperature. Thus, you will have to purchase a new thermostat and replace the old one. Be sure to choose the correct type of thermostat and wired it properly during installation.

Not Enough Heat

When the Trane heat pump is not able to provide the desired heat, it is most likely that the environment is warmer than the set temperature. Or if the pump starts to blow out cool air, it is likely that the pump has turned into defrost mode. If this happens, try to check the pump filters and its heating coils. Remember, dirty filters may slow down the heating process.

Freezing

Sometimes, during cooling process, the condenser may freeze up if we frequently set to the minimum temperature. If this happens, immediately turn off the HVAC unit. Then, check the filters to make sure that it is clean and check the air flow unit.

Fluctuation in Temperature

It is possible for the temperature to go too low during cooling and too high during heating process. This is usually due to the calibration of the thermostat. You have to check on your thermostat calibration.

These are some of the common problems that might occur. If you are not able to figure out yourself, try to get a technician to help you out.
