Laptop Down - From a forces Perspective

When we think of combat we only see Rifles, Ammunition, Bombs and all the anticipation that comes with it. However, we seldom ever understand the intricate detail of war, what it involves how many soldiers are affected and the necessities these soldiers need in order to say a high morale. Recently I spoke with Sfc Wood from the Army National Guard who was deployed for roughly two years as a Human reserved supply Sergeant, he asked me, do you know what it is to have your laptops in a war zone and they fail to work? This is a compelling quiz, since I have associated war with guns and have not look at it from a Human reserved supply perspective.

Human reserved supply Sergeants in the United States Army are tasked to ensure that soldiers are paid on time, are promoted when thorough and that house members receive their identification card, which will allow these house members way to medical and dental benefits. This profession, popularly known as soldiery career specialty (Mos), is also responsible to ensure that manpower and planning is executed in a timely manner.

With such a daunting task, how does a Human reserved supply (Hr) Sergeant survive without a laptop? Sfc Wood stated that if a laptop goes down then all Hr functions have to be done manually, which could mean weeks for soldier's promotion and other vital operation to take place. This stems from the length of time these actions will be held up by the snail mailing ideas from the war zone to the United States and then back. Now we see where the term laptop down comes from, and how it can create major frustration.

Dilemma with Laptop being down

There are several underlying issues that happen when a Hr Sergeant is not able to operate his or her laptops. A soldier in combat does not want to think of his house members not being able to eat because something is wrong with his pay or his house members not able to visit the hospital because the Soldier was not able to submit his/her marriage certificate to the Hr Sergeant for processing because the laptop has been down. These factors can produce a trickle down effect. First, the soldier morale goes down then his behavior affects his unit, which can lead to mistakes on the battlefield.

The significance of Laptops is Equivalent to the Effectiveness of a Weapon

In the past Human reserved supply Sergeants were popularly known as pencil pushers however according to Sergeant First Class Wood such dogma is moderately going away. Soldiers on the frontline in up-to-date years have come to realize that Hr plays a pivotal function in the United States Army and should be respected as a vital necessity for the fighting force. While the laptop does not shoot or kill, it keeps the Army moving. In today's Army, it is the guiding force in every aspect of soldier's daily life however for this narrative the focus remains on the significance of the laptop to the Human reserved supply Sergeant in the battlefield.

How to Ensure the Laptop staying Operational

At some point we have contact the downing of our laptop/computer where it whether quit on us or it does not have internet connection. While this contact drives a Hr Sergeant barmy, it is finally the soldier or their house that is affected by the problem. Sergeant First Class Wood stated that currently the Hr Sergeant has no restorative recourse while deployed. They must wait for the computer master and the Internet Technology master to come to their aide. The It master is ordered to, first set up computer operations for the leaders who are responsible for running the war with everybody else on a waiting list for assistance. The call should be made that the Human reserved supply master laptop fall in the top priority once a unit reaches the battlefield.

Conclusion

While combat is associated with direct fighting it is now leading for us to appreciate the function of the Human reserved supply Sergeant and his laptop while the time of war. While soldiers pay takes on a different tone from those fighting on the frontline, we can all agree that they are directly connected. A happy soldier is one that is satisfied in all aspect of his life; therefore from now on whenever one think of combat it is leading that they look at the significance in the laptop being up and running smoothly. From now on when you see a Hr Sergeant in the Us Army you should give them the uttermost respect for their ability to use their laptop to ensure that soldier's well being remains their former focus. There is a burning plea to the It Department, please keep the laptops Up in the war zone.
